I had called ahead to check the availability of some books. They put them aside for me however expected me to stand in the check-out line just to get the books for viewing. The woman was sarcastic about how they 'Normally do it" when I asked her to assist from the floor. She did not seem to notice the Long lines with no management stepping up!
Kind and helpful staff. Walked in and was looking for a book and this nice lady asked if I needed help finding anything. I told her the name of my book, and also told her that they probably wouldn’t have it since it was written by a Canadian author. The book indeed was not there and also not even on Barnes and Noble’a website online, but she recommended books by Louise Penny, who is also a Canadian author. She was very positive and was basically like, “there’s still Canadian authors and she’s a bestseller.” (Meaning: there’s still Canadians who are good writers) Very supportive.
Friendly staff, excellent customer service, good recommendations and pointers from charming and literate booksellers make this my favorite bookstore. The café is nice and staffed with nice folks, too. Definitely a great place to browse by yourself or to take a friend or a date. I often take my family here because my kids love it and love looking through the myriad shelves of books and hearing a story read aloud.
Large selection, very good service, friendly atmosphere, but somewhat expensive.
Good selection of books. It is quite annoying that you can't bring merchandise in or out of the Music department without buying it first. Many times I have had to wait a while in line as they only had one cashier on duty.
